We are a Secular Private Home School Co-op located in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Lumos academy was founded when a group of parents wanted a learning environment with individualized attention for each student with balanced time spent on science, math, reading, and writing in a non-religious setting. We have lots of fun, value kindness towards others and are serious about our students education.
Lumos academy encourages students to find and develop their own best learning strategies. By finding multiple ways of solving problems, writing answers, and retaining concepts, our classes learn and grow at their own, best pace.
Small class sizes are crucial when helping learners find their level and pace . Younger students are encouraged to try harder/more advanced work, while older ones focus on making learning easier. For each school subject, every member of our classes has a weekly lesson plan based on their quarterly assessments and specific personal goals.

We are currently accepting 5 - 12 year olds for the Fall 2024 School Year.
SCHEDULE
Families can choose from:
- 3 days a week: Mon, Wed, Thurs
- 4 days a week: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs
- 5 days a week: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri
- Drop off begins @ 8:20 AM
- Class: 9:00 AM -- 3:00 PM
We offer flexible scheduling alternatives to accommodate students participating in extracurricular activities and/or competitive sports.
CALENDAR
For many reasons, we follow a non traditional school calendar with frequent breaks throughout the year.
This balanced calendar approach benefits teachers, students, and families.
Learning can be done hybrid or remotely as needed.
RATIO
Max Ratio: 6 Students to 1 Teacher
CURRICULUM
Each student receives an individualized learning plan based on quarterly assessments and personal goals. No homework is assigned unless student has elected to have a remote learning day.
Admissions
We are currently accepting 5 - 12 year olds for the Fall 2024 School Year. Fall Semester begins on September 3.

Tuition can be paid in 10 installments, 2 installments, or paid in full.
Discounts Available:
- 10% -- for second student in family
- 5% -- for each additional students within same family
- 10% -- for tuition paid in 1 installment. Due September 3
- 6% -- for tuition paid in 2 installments. Due September 3 & January 6
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month starting in September when paid in 10 installments.
$35 late fee if tuition is not recieved by the 5th of each month.
FAQs
- My child is behind in a specific subject. Is that okay?
- Yes! Every student has a learning plan tailored for them. Lumos Academy is the perfect place to get caught up in a subject while still having the opportunity to explore special academic interests.
- My child is advanced in a specific subject. Will he or she still be challenged and be allowed to study higher than thier grade level.
- Yes! Kids crave complexity and thrive in environments where there is not a cap on their learning. We encourage students to excel as far as they wish to go in all areas.
- Do you require families to sign a year long contract?
- We do have a contract for families to sign. However, you are allowed to withdrawal you student at any time. We ask that you kindly give us 30 days notice prior to students last day so we may fill your students spot.
- Are there any additional fees outside of tuition?
- No, tuition covers all school supplies and curriculum. Note: there is a one time $45 Application + Interview fee. We will have optional periodic field trips that may have an additional fee if the destination has a specific charge.
- Do you have scholarships available?
- Yes, we have a limited number of scholarships that will be awarded to students based on financial hardship and student merit. Please fill out an application for more details.
